Flying Fish Swim

Giving Back

Each and every day we should be mindful of the need to help those around us, whether this is individuals or the environment.

As custodians of this earth, we need to ensure the protection of the estimated 8.7 million species which we share this planet with (6.5 million species on land and 2.2 million in oceans).

Through each and every Zsports event we ask our participants and supporters to try and leave some mark or legacy, no matter who small.

With this epic social swim up the stunningly beautiful Kariega River in peak holiday period, we ask for your support of the Periwinkle Charity which was founded in 2004 by like-minded holidaymakers who visit the Sunshine Coast on a regular basis. All funds are manager by Neave Stotter and Associates in Port Alfred.

During the year, Periwinkle distributes funds to various organisations such as Child Welfare, the Young Chiefs Football Club, and the Nolutando and Gladys Hani Helping Hands soup kitchens which each feed 60 mouths a day.

Donations are also given to Rotary Kenton-on-Sea which allows them to take the Grade 6 pupils from Ikamvalesizwe School in Ekuphumleni to Fairewood Hobbiton camp near Grahamstown. Some funds are used to buy Pick n Pay vouchers for the Bam Orphanage in Alexandria.

The charity will also be holding their annual Golf Day on the 19th December.
