Molo Festival of Triathlon

Welcome / Molo

Molo is a local isiXhosa way of greeting or saying Hello.

Residents of Nelson Mandela Bay are about to welcome more than 4000 international Ironman athletes coming to race the Isuzu Ironman 70.3 world championship. This prestigious global event is coming to Africa for the very first time in the same year we celebrate the centenary of the late tataMadiba.

The Isuzu Ironman 70.3 World Championship takes place over two days, on Saturday the 1st and Sunday the 2nd of September but that is not all. The Molo Festival of Triathlon hosted by your City has been designed to get all of us involved.

The Molo Festival of Triathlon is a collection of exciting events and initiatives aimed at creating the excitement and buzz in Nelson Mandela Bay in the lead up to the Isuzu Ironman 70.3 World Championship event in the City.

The elements that will make up the 2018 Molo Festival of Triathlon are:

This initiative is aimed at getting residents geared for activities, geared for action and ready to embrace the World Championship. We intend to do this by encouraging residents to celebrate their own achievement no matter how small. Finisher shirt Friday encourages them to wear their favourite finisher shirt from any of the Swim Bike Run sport disciplines. Whether it is ladies 5km run or the Comrades marathon, we urge residents to put them on and share via #finishershirtfridaynmb #im703wc18
