The Series continues to strive to be one of the most affordable water sport events in the country and offers 3 membership categories - Premier Membership, Series Membership & Once-Off participation.

Series Membership - once off online registration fee of R100 and daily discounted Race Entry Fee of:

aQuellé Ocean Racing Series Swim Caps are compulsory for each of the swim races in accordance with the seasonal colour allocation. These great quality branded silicone caps are available through online purchase or on race day from merchandising at our cost price of just R50 each. Colours of the 400m, 1km, 2km and 3km swims STAY THE SAME as last season's so participants aren't required to purchase new caps.

Finishers medals for the ViV Kids with Top 3 Finishers medals all events.

Racing starts at 8.45am for the 400m and 9am for the other 6 events on offer - each event running simultaneously - entries open on site from 7.30am.

Safety comes FIRST

Whilst we encourage the use of the swimbuoy for all open water swimming, it is now mandatory that ALL swimmers 10 years and UNDER are required to swim with a SWIM BUOY at all Zsports Events. There are numerous resellers of such items around the country and Zsports also have in stock (click here to purchase from us)

SERIES MEMBERSHIP

Series Membership Fee is just R50 (available online only before race day).

Series members retain their Series Number throughout the season and can take part in any of the 7 events on offer. Series points are allocated to Series members based on their results each race day within the specific disciplines and count towards the overall and age group standings at the end of the Season (see Prize Template).

On race days, Series members are asked to report for entry to indicate the discipline they will be taking part in on that morning and pay in cash the race day discounted entry fee (25% off swim events) of R150 (swim events) with 100% off beach events (R0 entry fee).

PLEASE NOTE : Series Membership can not be purchased on race days - this will be a late/once-off entry and you'll need to sign-up as a Series Member online post event (no points allocated for that race).  

PREMIER MEMBERSHIP (Fully Paid)

Premier membership offers a hassle-free season of not having to queue for entry on race mornings, no cash needed on race days PLUS a complimentary hot drink on the morning.

The above membership fee covers Series Membership Fee (R50) PLUS ALL race day entries (R900) for Season 20 PLUS items listed below.

Ocean Swimming Races

The Ocean Racing Series offers 4 swim distances throughout the season - a 400m, 1km, 2km and 3km race. The 1km Ocean Swim consists of one lap, the 2km will be two laps and the 3km is three laps whilst the 400m is on a different course. Swim direction is anti-clockwise unless specified otherwise at race briefing before the start. Swimmers to remain in the water between laps. aQuellé branded ORS swim cap is compulsory in the specific discipline colour, wetsuits are optional. Lifeguards are present throughout the swim to assist participants.

Beach Events

Our Beach Events for SERIES MEMBERS is offered Free of Charge this Season. R100 for once off (non-members) participation.

We offer a 5km Beach Run or 5km Beach Walk (seperate categories) which are arguable one of the most scenic fun run/walks in the country.

An out and back course (all along the beach when tides permit) from Hobie Beach to a water table positioned near the Beacon (off Admiralty Way) and back. 

Kids Club

For the kids, 10 years and under (as of 31st Dec 2024), we offer the High ViV Kids club 1km Beach run/walk which offers finishers medals for all.

Trophies for top 3 in age groups:
6 under,
8 under, and
10 under

AND their own lucky draw prizegiving each race morning.

Kids registered as SERIES MEMBERS are offered this event Free of Charge this Season. R100 for once off (non-members) participation.

How to enter?

The easiest is to sign up as a Member through the website (enter online). The benefit of this once-off online entry is that we get accurate (as you provide) info and you receive an immediate confirmation together with your Series race number.

Our online system accepts both credit card and EFT (your promise to transfer funds into our account) payment options AND we don't charge you extra for this like most other payment sites. Please note that EFT payment option usually closes 3 days before race weekend in order to allow payment to clear before the race. Please ensure you use the supplied order number as your payment reference to assist quick payment reconciliation on the system.

Refund Policy

When entering, you accept that all entry fees are non-refundable - you are making a non-refundable purchasing decision and must agree to this policy. You may not give or sell your number to another individual outside of the authorized transfer policy and process - if you do, this will result in disqualification and banishment from this event. This policy stays in effect whether you are injured, have an unexpected business or family emergency, illness, pregnancy, etc. There are NO exceptions. Once you register, unrecoverable race course services and items are paid for for you as if you will be attending the event.

We reserve the right to postpone or cancel the event due to events out of our control such as a natural disaster or emergency. No refunds will be issued under these circumstances. We may also alter the courses and distances at any time if required due to course blockages or other restrictions or impediments. There will be no fee refunds for a postponed or canceled event.
