aQuellé Khula Ocean Racing Series

Rules & Regulations

Nelson Mandela Bay's unique aQuellé Ocean Racing Series consists of four Ocean Swim races (400m, 1km, 2km & 3km), a 5km Beach Run, a 5km Beach Walk and a 1km Beach Run/walk for kids 12 years and under.

Please ensure that you have read and understand the Series Rules before completing your entry form.

Some facts we would like highlighted:

  • Wetsuits are allowed in all ocean swim events. No other swim aids will be permitted. Season 16 ORS branded swim caps are compulsory.
  • All participants must report to the registration area on race day to enter for their particular discipline on the day and to receive their race wrist band.
  • Premier Members have to sign the attendance register before races start.
  • Premier Members FAILING to sign the attendance register and indicating the correct distance they are taking part in BEFORE the race starts WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. This is a safety requirement which has been abused in previous seasons and will no longer be tolerated. NO SIGNATURE - NO RESULT!
  • No participation is permitted without a race wrist band.
  • Race day entries are open from 07h30 to 08h45 on Race Days.
  • Prize winners must be present and wearing their wrist bands to claim their prize.
  • The onus is on the participant to check the results and to ensure that any problems are reported before the following race. No corrections will be made after this time.
  • Participants MAY NOT go back onto the race course once they have finished their race
  • Participants who withdraw from the event MUST notify the finish recording staff immediately
  • For age group results, the age of the participant is the persons age as on the 31st December (mid-season).
