Port Festival Surf Ski Race

Come join us for a race against one of the awesome harbour TUGS!

An exciting addition to the Port Festival this year will be a Paddlers vs Tug race from Port Elizabeth Harbour.

An out and back race, starting in the Port of Port Elizabeth and heading out towards Pollok Beach for a total distance of 12km is planned. Prize giving at the newly refurbished Nelson Mandela Bay Yacht Club is planned immediately after the last paddlers are in.

The Ski race, open to both Single and Double Ski's, will require all the necessary SAMSA regulations for paddling (leash and PDF compulsory).

10am START - prize giving at 12 noon.

EARLY BIRD ENTRY FEE - R100 (Single Ski), R150 (Double Ski) - NORMAL ENTRY FEE (Friday 30th) will be R150 / R200 and the LATE or MANUAL ENTRY FEE on Saturday morning between 8am and 09:30am will be R200 / R250 respectively.

Port - Hobie Beach Pier - Port with temporary marker buoys will be positioned within the harbour and just off Mac Arthur baths to ensure paddlers stick to route shown above. Outward bound, paddlers just go inside of buoy off Mac Arthur Baths, in between the 6-pack pillars at Humewood beach and through the pier at Hobie Beach. Turn around the pier, pass outside the 6-pack and then inside of the buoy off Mac Arthur Baths before returning to the Port.
