ENTRIES CLOSING DATE
Normal Entry online registration will officially close at midnight on Sunday 12th January - Late entries may be accepted during the last week subject to a late entry penalty of R100 whilst any entries received on the day of the event will carry a late manual entry penalty fee of R150.
We encourage all participants to pre-register in order to avoid the late entry charges.
SWIMMING EVENTS
All swim events swum with incoming tide - Medal for all finishers (45min time limit for Mile).
RACE TIMING
Being tidal, exact times are deemed irrelevant so time is not taken as you cross the finish line - your position is what is most important. Whilst times will be provided in results, these are not reflective of when swimmers cross the finish line but when they come past the timing station towards the end of the finish shute.
DISABLED PARTICIPANTS (MILE EVENT)
Please advise so that we can assist you on the day with reserved parking. Disabled swimmers may ONLY take part in the Disabled Mile swim and will be ferried to the start of the race by boat.
KIDS ACROSS THE RIVER RACES
These races are ONLY for children 12 years and under who are NOT DOING the Mile. A fun swim across the river (30-50m). Kids who aren't able to swim unassisted MUST be assisted by a self-appointed parent/adult. Kids may use floating devices but with such aides may not be placed in the top 3 positions and claim any podium prizes. The Children are ferried across the river to the start by the Sunday's River Ferry (parents / guardians are required to swim across).
All Kids online entries will receive one of our LIMITED edition Silicone Swim Caps valued at R80.
Hosted in Nelson Mandela Bay this is Africa's oldest open water swimming event - established in 1924.
