SA National Open Water Championships

Information

The 2024 Swimming South Africa National Open Water Championships will be held at Marina Martinique, Jeffreys Bay on the 8th, 9th & 10th March 2024. 

Provincial affiliates will select SSA registered members who have met the entry criteria to participate. Only times posted in SSA approved open water swimming events will be considered for entry. 

International competitors must provide a Clearance Certifcate from their FINA affiliated Federation granting permission to participate in the SA National OWS Championships.

Registrations close 30 minutes before the advertised start of each event on each day.

All competitors are to register and ensure that they have already signed the indemnity form and leave both their left and right shoulder and upper arms free from grease, as their competitor number will be written on these areas. Care should be taken when applying grease to ensure that the competitor number remains legible.

Results and Presentations

Medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for all events.

Once all competitors in that event have completed the course, official results will be posted on the Swimming South Africa website as soon as practical following the completion of each race. Results will also appear on this website for ease of reference.

A Medal Presentation will be held at the venue once the results have been ratified and published. Podium finishers are requested to wear their Affiliate attire for the presentation.

 

Meals

There is a world class restaurant on site (Nina's) and additional fast food vendors may also in attendance. Alongside the start/finish area there is also the magnificent Wacky Water Park which has tuck shop facilities available to us AND a must do attraction for all swimmers.
