Team entries are limited, no entries accepted after event quota has been reached or Wednesday 19th August 4pm (whichever comes first).

Manual entry may be made at the Zsports offices - please note that a R50 processing fee will apply to manual entries.

* Categories

Corporate Teams - open teams sponsored by companies with the Team Name being the company name (eg: Caltex 1)

Social Teams - open teams with fun Team Names or family names - team names may not be company names or any other form of commercial advertising. Runners in this category may not wear company branded clothing.

Club Teams - closed category where all members of the team are bona fide paid up members of the specific sports club or organisation (ie school teachers team would fall into this category and run under the school name) - team name should be the official club name. Eg Walmer Athletics 1

School Teams - closed category where all team members must be bona fide scholars of the school and must be under the age of 19 years for Senior teams and 14 years for Junior teams.

Spectator Train Ticket - Tickets are available on the train for spectators. Passengers to board at Port Elizabeth station from 8am (train leaves 9am) and train returns at 2.00pm (immediately after prize giving) from Uitenhage Station. Community Upliftment

We hope that the Nelson Mandela Bay Train Race will involve persons from all communities to come together in the spirit of competition and that all teams will support our nominated charity through donations of some kind.

 

Corporate Hospitality

Fires and braai facilities are available to all teams. Braai packs and/or pre-made braai lunches are available for order through merchandising. The Bridge St Brewery Beer Garden and a Kids play zone are available. PLEASE NOTE that teams may NOT bring own fires or alcohol into festival area.

VIP AREA - Your company / team(s) can book a VIP reserved area which includes a 6mx4m marquee, Spit-braai lunch, 2 beer vouchers and 2 cold drink vouchers for your crew. Must be 10 or more and will cost just R300 per person.

Giving back to those in need

This year the Train Race is helping to support CHOC - Childhood Cancer Foundation. CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation SA is a national organisation dedicated to providing assistance to children that are battling cancer or life-threatening blood disorders, and their families. We hope that with your entry for this year's event you will be in a position to include a small donation to this Foundation.
