Nelson Mandela Bay Triathlon

Welcome to the Home Page of the Zsports managed Nelson Mandela Bay Duathlon Championships website. 

We are super proud to host our first EVERY Nelson Mandela Bay Triathlon Duathlon Championship event. This regional championships event takes place on Sunday 5th May at Pollok Beach, Port Elizabeth.

Whilst OPEN TO ALL budding duathletes, only Triathlon South Africa (TSA) registered participants will be considered for team selection following these Championships.

The Championships will feature:-

  • Youth Duathlon (12-15 yrs of age) - 2.5km Run / 10km Cycle / 1.25km Run
  • Junior Duathlon (16 - 19 yrs) - 5km Run / 20km Cycle / 2.5km Run
  • Senior Duathlon (20 yrs +) - 10km Run / 40km Cycle / 5km Run

Top 3 age group winners will receive NMBT Championship medals.

The Age Groups for the above Championship events will be defined as follows:-

  • Youth Duathlon (12 - 15 yrs)
  • Junior Duathlon (16 - 19yrs)
  • Senior Duathlon (5 year intervals - 20-24yrs, 25-29yrs, 30-34yrs, ... 80yrs and over)

For the Championship, the age of participant is determined by their age as at 31st December 2019.

Also included in the Program will be Duathlon events for the social / non-registered duathletes and these events include;

  • Super Sprint Distance Duathlon (12yrs and older) - as per above distances
  • Sprint Distance Duathlon (16 yrs and older) - as per above distances
  • Standard Distance Duathlon (20 yrs +) - as per above distances

For these social races there will be finishers medals but regrettably no overall or age group prizes.


Championships pre-registration / race briefing

A meet and greet will take place at the Pollok Beach race venue on Saturday 4th May 2019 at 4pm where all registered participants will receive race instruction for the Sunday morning. Race route information will be discussed in detail and this is your opportunity to ensure any uncertainly with regards to rules and route are made clear to you.


Sat+R50 and Sun + R100. Online entry closes 12 noon Sat 4th May...
