This is the inaugural event of the PEople's Triathlon in Port Elizabeth, Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa.

A SHORT COURSE has now been included, only 100 entry slots available, at R500 entry (excluding TSA / temp license). Entries for Short Course close Friday 23rd August or when quota reached. See ENTER NOW page for details.

TSA LICENCE - TSA license is compulsory (permanent / temporary issue) - You will need to show proof of your TSA license at registration - those without a license (or proof) will be required to purchase a day Licence at R120.00. Team Challenge entry fee already includes their team day license fee.

Minimum age for entry across both events will be 18 years of age (as at 31st December 2019).

NO ADDITIONAL ONLINE BOOKING FEE is charged by Zsports Events NPC's online portal.

ENTRY FEE REFUNDS / ENTRY TRANSFER POLICY

In the case of the event being cancelled up to 48 hours before the advertised race day, all entry fees (less: 3% bank charges fee) will be refunded.
Your entry cancellation (for whatever reason, from your side) prior to official close of Normal Entries will receive a 95% refund.
No refunds/transfers will be entertained once event is in late entry phase or entries are closed however, athletes will be permitted to transfer their pre-entry to another athlete during Late Entry phase at a cost of R100 per transfer. 
Refunds for forced withdrawals due to medical reasons may be considered up until 7 days before the event with full refund (less bank charges) IF a full paying replacement is found to take the entry slot. Signed doctors note will be required.


REGISTRATION TIMES

Saturday – 31st August from: 14:00 – 16:00

NO Race Day Registration

Registration will take place at the News Cafe, Boardwalk.

 

COMPULSORY RACE BRIEFING

A compulsory race briefing will take place at 16h30 on Saturday at the News Cafe Boardwalk.

This will be a non-drafting race with Tri Bars permitted in accordance with TSA/ITU rules. Mountaing Bikes / Time Trial Bikes also permitted.

 

CUT-OFF TIMES

RACE START - 07h30

SWIM LEG - 1hr 15min (08h45)
CYCLE LEG - 4hrs 15min (13h00)
RUN LEG - 3hrs 30 min (16h30)
RACE Cut Off Time: 9hrs

Once cut-off has been reached, those participants who are still on the course will be taken off for safety reasons. Road Closure along Marine Drive re-opens strictly at 13:00.

There will also be soft cut-offs at the Cycle turn-around point (Victoria Drive) on the 2nd lap and at the start of the last lap of the run to ensure no participants are on the route when roads re-open.


TEAM ENTRY

Minimum age for team entrants will be 18 years of age in the year of the event.

A team is to comprise of 2 or 3 members with each team member competiting in one (or 2 in the case of a 2 person team) of the 3 disciplines in a relay format with the supplied timing chip acting like a race baton and being passed between each team member in the transition area. 

 

TRANSITION AREA

Transition area will open from 05:15 on race day only.
TSA Officials will check your swim cap (supplied cap), helmet and bike on entry.
Transition will close at 07:15 and will re-open for bike removal as soon as the last person finishes - all bikes to be removed by 18:00 on race day.
No bags are allowed to be left at the bike racks - a special secure area will be allocated for these.
